The Illust.space Mission Map

Every glowing pin below is a real GPS coordinate in New Orleans. Open Illust.space on your phone at that location to load the AR scene — no app-store download required.

How Illust.space Works Here

From GPS Pin to AR Scene

1. Geofenced Trigger

Each mission pin has a real-world radius (typically 40–75m). Entering it unlocks a "Scan with Illust" button in the ICU app's Mission Drawer.

2. WebAR Scene Load

Tapping through opens Illust.space directly in the phone browser, camera-anchored to that exact spot, no install required — critical for festival foot traffic and tourists.

3. Mission Puzzle

Puzzle types vary per Sin (see below) — audio-sync, refusal dialogue, patience challenges, and light AR object-manipulation, tuned to be completable one-handed on a sidewalk.

4. Sync Back

On completion, Illust.space posts a signed completion event back to the ICU app, which updates the Hunter's dossier, FuX Board, and 8D profile.

AR Mission Mechanics

SinPuzzle MechanicReal Anchor
PrideCrown Sight — briefly reveals every AR object, mission pin, and hidden glitch-ghost within sight, but overlays a false 'perfect score' HUD that lies to flatter the Hunter.Jackson Square, New Orleans, LA
EnvyMirror Link — temporarily copies another player's (or NPC's) last-used ability, but every use quietly drains a sliver of that ability's original owner's progress.Frenchmen Street, New Orleans, LA
WrathRiot Pulse — a short-range AR shockwave that clears hostile glitch-swarms instantly, but overcharges FuX's mystery meter and can 'lock' the power for the rest of the session if overused.Congo Square, New Orleans, LA
LustGlamour Veil — lets the Hunter's AR avatar appear as an idealized 'best self' to NPCs and other players for a limited time, opening dialogue paths — but the mask can start to feel more true than the Hunter underneath.Bourbon Street, New Orleans, LA
GluttonyOverclock — briefly doubles FuX's processing speed (faster scans, faster puzzle hints), but consumes double the session's 'FuX Energy' meter, risking an early shutdown of AR features.Café du Monde, New Orleans, LA
GreedVault Sense — detects every nearby collectible and mission reward through walls, but each detection silently records the Hunter's location for FuX_Grip's private ledger.Canal Street, New Orleans, LA
SlothDeep Rest — pauses all mission timers city-wide for the Hunter for 10 minutes (once per week) with zero penalty, the only FuX power with no hidden cost — because rest is the one sin the story treats as sacred, not shameful.City Park, New Orleans, LA

Safety & Access

Ground Rules for Real-World Play

  • Every pin sits on public, well-lit, ADA-accessible ground — sidewalks, parks, and public squares only.
  • No mission requires trespassing, climbing, or entering private property.
  • All street missions have a "Play From Home" fallback via Virtual CyberSwamp mode (see next section).
  • The ICU actively flags and hides any pin with reported safety issues within one review cycle.
