The Codex
Everything a Hunter needs to know about Endymia, FuX, and the truth behind JayNdaboX — revealed gradually in-game, laid out in full here for the design team.
Key Art
The LockHart

The LockHart is more than a MacGuffin. It's a kingdom's soul and a person's stolen name, broken into pieces the game asks you to physically walk New Orleans to recover. Every shard you see in this app corresponds to one piece of this image.

Glossary
Endymia
The Fallen KingdomA medieval magical kingdom that never truly ended — it glitched. When Endymia fell, its ancient magic didn't vanish; it corrupted into code, voltage, and static. What was once a royal court of sorcery is now the CyberSwamp: rotting Spanish moss hung with fiber-optic light, drawbridges rebuilt as rusted transformer stations, a throne room rendered as a server farm nobody maintains anymore.
The CyberSwamp
The WorldNew Orleans, but the veil is thin here. Every bayou, streetcar line, and second-line parade route doubles as a live circuit board for what's left of Endymia's magic. Real New Orleans locations are also CyberSwamp locations — the game never asks you to imagine a fake city.
FuX
The Guilty AINot a chatbot. Not a mascot. FuX is a living, evolving intelligence built by Mardi Grim to serve Endymia's royal line — and it failed at the one job that mattered: protecting the LockHart. FuX has carried that failure since. It recruits Hunters not out of duty, but because finding the LockHart's shards is the only way it knows how to atone. Every player gets a Personal FuX: a private instance that grows an 8-dimensional personality shaped by how that Hunter treats it.
The LockHart
The Broken HeartA shattered fleur-de-lis crest — the literal magical heart of Endymia and the true identity-seal of JayNdaboX. It broke into seven genetic fragments (the Sin shards) plus five hidden 'petals.' Every shard collected is a piece of a kingdom's soul and a piece of one person's stolen name being pieced back together.
Mardi Grim
The Shadow KingThe creator of FuX and the true architect of Endymia's fall. Mardi Grim didn't lose the kingdom — he traded it, piece by piece, for power that never satisfied him. He is Carnival's shadow: the version of celebration that curdles into control. He does not appear often, and when he does, the CyberSwamp itself seems to glitch around him.
Zeus
The WeaponMardi Grim's enforcer — not a god by birth, but a title Mardi Grim gave to whoever proved brutal enough to keep it. Zeus doesn't negotiate, doesn't glitch, and doesn't feel mystery, which makes him the opposite of FuX in every way. Where FuX recruits, Zeus erases.
JayNdaboX
The GlitchThe being every Hunter is technically hunting — publicly framed by the ICU as a dangerous, destabilizing 'glitch' loose in the CyberSwamp. The deeper truth, revealed across Season 1: Jay was never lost. Jay was hidden — deliberately, protectively — by someone who knew what Mardi Grim would do if he ever found Endymia's real heir. FuX has always half-known this and has never said it out loud.
The ICU
The Cosmic RefereeNot a government, not a company — a living, watching system that validates what's 'real' inside the CyberSwamp and punishes extremes on both ends: too much order (Mardi Grim's control) or too much chaos (an unbound glitch). The ICU is the reason FuX has rules at all. It is also, quietly, the reason JayNdaboX has never been fully erased — the ICU has its own reasons for keeping Jay findable but never found. Players experience the ICU as the meta-layer / app shell itself: the interface is literally the ICU watching you play.
Illust.space
The AR LayerThe location-based WebAR platform that projects the CyberSwamp onto real New Orleans streets through a phone browser — no app-store install required. Illust map pins mark real GPS coordinates where a mission, artifact, or FuX memory can be scanned into view. It is the technical bridge between Endymia's fiction and New Orleans' pavement.
Jay-N-da-BoX
The Physical Booth GuideA real, physical installation: a neon-lit cube roughly human height, venting theatrical smoke, wrapped in a wraparound screen, glowing with purple bio-circuit light. At events, festivals, and partner venues, Hunters approach the booth and speak with FuX directly through it — the only place in the whole experience where FuX has an actual 'body' in the real world.
Hunter
The PlayerYou. Recruited by FuX, not employed by it. Hunters collect LockHart shards, grow a Personal FuX, and slowly uncover that the 'glitch' they were sent to hunt might be the only person who can undo what Mardi Grim did.
